This year we want to build on our work in 2019, so these are are our plans:
End of January :
visits to 6 (7) primary schools – Beauly, Kirkhill, Dalneigh, Merkinch, St Josephs and Central (possibly Glenurqhart as well).
Start of indoor sessions at Milburn Academy ( see our facebook page or website for details ). Aimed at 2 age groups: 7 to 11 and 12 to 16.
After Easter holidays
programme of visits to above schools : aimed at P5/6, 4 x 1hr sessions. Encourage to form a 6 person team. Informal visits to encourage development and practice and teachers. NCCC will loan kit to each school for “out of hours practice”. We have also applied for lottery funding to help buy T-Shirts for each player.
8 weeks before School summer holidays:
Start of Allstars (age 5 to 8yrs) programme (at NMP, 5 to 6 pm)
Near end of Summer term :
Wildcat Cup – 1 day inter school P 5/6 competition at NMP – involves the schools above. 6 a side, 60 balls per innings, everyone Bats and Bowls. In school time (possibly last week?)
Winner eligible for entry to National P 5/6 competition.
Under 16 select Training
This will continue throughout the Summer – we are trying to obtain an indoor venue for this. Otherwise this will take place at the NMP ( probably Thursdays 5 to 6.30)
So, a lot planned.
The guys at the Club will be facilitating and organising all of the above BUT WE WILL NEED HELP. So, if you think you could spare some time either in the evening (Tuesday or Thursdays between 4 and 5.30) or at the week ends, or for the Competition day. PLEASE TALK TO ANYONE AT THE CLUB. We can arrange some training for you if you want to (Level 1 award).
