Too close for comfort!

A good win against Highland yesterday but had the nerves jangling towards the end with a great rearguard last wicket innings from  the visitors.

A run out by James Lean brought the very exciting game to an end.

Please Counties stop doing this , it’s no good for my old ticker.

Thanks to Donald Cameron for the photos.

Lifescan give grant to help with Youth Development

Yesterday, the 26th July, we heard from Lifescan that our application for funding to help with our youth development had been successful.

A cheque for £1000 has been given to Dave Dugdale – the Club Captain.

Lifescan are a major employer in the Inverness area and take their social responsibilities very seriously. To that end they support many worthy causes locally.

Ah, that’s where the car keys were !

So, you’ve spent all day playing cricket in Elgin and were wondering where your cars keys were.

“They must be in my bag” you say, “I’ll have good search when we get back to the car park in Inverness”

As you enter the car park you discover that they weren’t in your bag at all and you try to get to them before anyone in the team notices that they’ve been in the car door all day. …. and it wasn’t even your car. You’d borrowed it from the father in law to be.

Too slow Will’. Gotcha !

Dickie is turned to the Dark Side

Our favourite supporter, Dickie, spotted with his preferred tipple just before he went on the rampage in town.

What’s going on? He normally gets through half a dozen mugs of tea during a game. We think the woman in red trousers next to him was plying him with the demon drink. Who was she? Did anyone she her hand him the can? Was it just one can? Why did she do it?

Have you seen her. If so. Report her to the club captain at once!

It could be you next!!

Seriously though, it’s his 90th birthday on the 24th and everyone at the club wishes him many more visits to the NMP.

Tough game today

Today we play top of the table Forres on their patch. Always a tough one and after last weeks strange result we need to remember that we outplayed both teams at the cricket. More of the same urgency and energy is required and I’m sure we can get a good result if we concentrate on our game and not theirs.

Forres Away

This weekend sees the 1st team travel to Moray to face table toppers Forres.

Counties looking strong even with the absent Shaun Thomas (work) Boomer Leckie (injured) and S Donald (family commitments).

Counties line up with;

  1. D Dugdale (c)
  2. W Ford (wk)
  3. R Smith
  4. N Eshwara
  5. M Latimer
  6. P Cronin
  7. N Ireland
  8. G Mcdowell
  9. R Domadia
  10. J Mills
  11. M Mackenzie
  12. J Lean

Weather permitting I expect it to be a great game. I’m expecting everyone to step up and make a statement for when we meet them at the end of August in the cup final.
